Settime The Castle. The building has the typical horse-shoe shape and it's a testimonial of the old origin dated 1300 D.C., in particular in the towers and the arcades made of brickwork and sandastone of the external front. All around the castle there is the park.
It was
partially destroyed from the french soldiers in 1704 and rebuild in the
next years. The towers, has been destroyed from the french mines and they
disappear from the buildings which took the shape of a country-house
loosing its medieval look. The project of the Castle belonged to the
Architect Filippo Juvarra, who is also considered the builder of others
buildings in the town, even if there are no papers which certify all this.
Very interesting are the big entrance door, the arcades
and the paintings.
Parish
Church.
It is dedicated to St. Nicolas and St. Mary. Nobody knows the date of
build, but probably it should be of the medieval age. It was build from
the Roero Family, which owned the right
"ius patronatus" and up to the end of the XIX Century was also
called "St. Mary of The Castle". It was restored in 1712. In 1900
it was painted from the artist Lamberti, with pleasant pictures. In 2001, in
occasion of the celebrations of the Century of the paintings of the artist
Lamberti in the church, has been published a book, written by the teacher
Maria Grazia Cavallino and from Don Vittorio Croce which contains an
intresting reportage of the paintings and the holy objects of the church. Curch of St. Rocco. The church was build in 1599, like that of St. Charles, to beseech to the epidemics.
